The World Virtually Yours

In July 2004 my virtual business went virtual walkabouts when we re-located across the Atlantic to Canada. It's truly a mark of how versatile the VA industry is that, today in 2006, I still have all the same clients from the UK along with some new UK and Canadian clients. Some of my clients didn't even notice I'd moved!

I recently met up with one of my new clients from the UK when she was on holiday in Canada and heading back to Toronto airport. She stopped off for a welcome cup of English tea on route. She finds the time difference a distinct advantage as she sends me work at the end of her day and she gets it back before the start of her next day. I have even joined forces with some VA colleagues in the UK, France, Australia and the USA and between us we can offer 24 hour coverage for transcription.

With today's technology the VA industry is truly a global industry that is a powerful resource for any business.

Virtually Restoring Balance, One Task at a Time!

Healer's Helper officially opened for business in August of 2003. Before that time, I functioned in many front office capacities; most of the time, in mental health agencies. After more than 20 years of working for others, it was time for me to go out on my own.

I had a strong desire to continue to provide great customer service and to create excellent working relationships, but I wanted to also have more autonomy and creativity in my work. My entrepreneurial spirit was chomping at the bit. I had so many ideas on how to better work with people that I could not implement while being an employee.

Now I'm partnering with some great people, and I'm able to provide individualised service to each one of them. I am still working primarily with mental health practitioners, but I do have clients from other industries, too.

There have been times when I've partnered with other virtual assistants to complete large projects. It's great to have a whole industry of colleagues who are always willing to help.

Now, instead of dreading going to work, I can't wait to start each day.
